Virtual Line FAQ
Never tell us the odds. We’re pulling out all the stops to make as many STAR WARS tickets available at the earliest possible nano-second. But with so many people logging in, we also don’t want to break our hyperdrive.
So here’s the plan: once tickets go on sale, visitors to drafthouse.com/starwars and users of the Alamo app who click on a showtime will be entered into a ’virtual line.’ Once you’ve made your way to the front of the line, you’ll be able to make your STAR WARS ticket purchase.
Additional questions? Check out the FAQ below.
What time are tickets going on sale?
We’re not able to relay specifics ahead of time, but we’ll email you the second tickets go on sale. Full disclosure: bulk
emails can also take a little while to unspool, so keep an eye on our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts for the fastest
notification.
What’s the Opening Night Fan Event?
The STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER Opening Night Fan Event will feature a collectible pin and a special concession offer.
How will ticket purchasing work online?
When tickets go on sale nationwide, visitors to drafthouse.com and users of the Alamo Drafthouse app for iOS and Android
will be prompted to enter a virtual line.
Why are you doing a virtual line?
We’re expecting some unprecedented demand for tickets which could cause some hiccups across the internet. The virtual line
system is a buffer that should alleviate strain on drafthouse.com and allow as many people as possible to get tickets.
So how’s the virtual line work?
Your place in line will update as you move closer and closer to the front. While you’re waiting, you’ll be able to browse
theaters and showtimes, and see previews of the current seating chart to plan which showtime is best for you. When you get
to the front of the line, the web site or mobile app will behave normally. At that point, just purchase your tickets and
merch as you normally would.
How long will it take for me to get tickets online?
Each Alamo Drafthouse market will have their own line, with access to each theater in that market. There’ll be one common
line for both 3D and 2D formats. In some markets the numbers might seem high, but the more locations in your market, the
more shows, and the more seats that’ll be available. We’ll get you tickets, promise.
So when can I plan on joining the virtual line?
The virtual line will start to form right as tickets go on sale.
But when do tickets go on sale?
See answer #1.
How do I purchase Mondo and Birth.Movies.Death merchandise?
Merchandise available only while supplies last, only with tickets to STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, and only at Alamo
Drafthouse box office locations, drafthouse.com, and the latest edition of the Alamo app for iOS and Android.
When will you show us the glass designs?
As soon as we can! In the meantime, we can tell you that the glass designs by superstar artist César Moreno depict the Light
Side and the Dark Side.
I purchased my tickets without the merch, but I’d really like to get them now – what should I do?
Contact your theater as soon as possible via drafthouse.com/theaters – include your ticket confirmation details and a phone
number that’s best to reach you. Quantities may be limited as we get closer to the release, so the sooner you do this, the
better.
I finally got through and now there’s no tickets available for the date or time I wanted.
It’s true, those first shows are highly in demand. Between now and the opening we may be able to open up more shows and
more seats. Stay tuned.
Can I book a private screening of STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER for my employees/family/friends?
You sure can, but spots are filling up fast. Head over to drafthouse.com/venue-rental and reach out to our private and community
events team.
What if there’s problems with the site?
If there’s problems with site performance we’ll update you as soon as we can via our social media channels, particularly
@drafthouse on Twitter.
